My animated GIF “The [3D] Great Day of His Wrath“. A remix artwork out of “The Great Day of His Wrath” by John Martin (1789-1854); from the 1840s room at Tate Britain, selected for the event Late at Tate Britain. Art meets film: Moving image.
“On February 2014, a group of young experimental film and moving image makers have taken over Late at Tate Britain, drawing inspiration from the new rehang. A mix of new films, live DJ and VJ performances and guerrilla projections. Plus a mass participatory GIF animation collage installation.” From the Late at Tate Britain page.
In April 2016 the work has been selected for the exhibiton Digitale Abstraktionen at Haus der elektronischen Künste, Basel (CH). Curated by Alexandra Adler and Reinhard Storz (HGK Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst) and the platform xcult.org.
