Mapping Ticino: Interview with Pier Giorgio De Pinto

Between November and December 2024, in Locarno, the Revolving Histories – translocal performance stories team interviewed artists from the Ticino scene who dedicate part of their artistic practice to Performance Art.
The aim of the project was to deepen the understanding of performance art and performative activities in Ticino, by creating a public mapping and organizing a dedicated Wikipedia workshop to archive all the collected material online.

Among the interviewees was Pier Giorgio De Pinto. His video interview can be viewed here:

He also contributed with his own material to enrich this mapping. His artistic journey already spans 16 years of living in Switzerland: a path filled with moving memories, intense dialogues, and extraordinary encounters, across the whole country with dozens and dozens of collaborations.

De Pinto warmly thanks Andrea Saemann, Chris Regn, Dorothea Rust, Ursula Scherrer, and the entire Revolving Histories team for this precious opportunity.

The Revolving Histories project has been made possible thanks to the collaboration with Mediathek der Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst Basel FHNW, HSLU Master Kunst Luzern, PANCH Performance Art Netzwerk CH, Radio X Basel, and wikimedia.
